The purposes of this memorial foundation are to hand down to posterity the great works of Dr.Mineichiro Adachi who contributed greatly to world peace as a diplomat and as a chief judge of the Permanent Court of International Justice as well, and to help foster talented people who can work on the international plane.
Mineichiro was born in June 1869 at Yamanobe, Yamagata prefecture, and died at Amsterdam, Holland, in December
1934 Holland accorded him a state funeral and the International Jastice Court which is the center of the Conscience of the world praised his dedicated works in its official obsequies.
This foundation was started in June 1960 at the idea of Mrs.Adachi.
Mineichiro's house in Yamagata is now used as a public facility by young people of his home town and a monument is erected there with an engraved script on it, written by the former prime minister, Reijiro Wakatsuki, who shared his school days with Mineichiro. He and his wife are buried in the precinct of Sojiji temple at Tsurumi.
